However, Lucky is the first ever puppy that I can call my own. He is also the first ever to be raised as and indoor pet.
[Lucky guarding Mommy's Starbucks]
On the Up side
-I think they are easier to train and control when they are constantly under supervision (or in their crate).
-You get to witness all the goof, hilarious things they do (Lucky likes to chew his own leg - picture the hyena in Disney's The Lion King.)
-Two words: Cuddle Partner
-They are less "wild" because you are with them most of the time (Lucky's sister is a outdoor puppy who is even more insane because no one has time to spend outside in the hellish heat with her.)
-Bursts of psychotic puppy energy
On the Down side
-They get spoiled.
-Two words: Potty training.
-Urine accidents are no fun to clean up.
-Rolls of shredded toilet paper cost money.
-Bursts of psychotic puppy energy.
-Destroyed shoes and clothes
Even though he's a freaking nut case sometimes, I love my little puppy!!
PS. I highly recommend crate training.
What about you guys?
Any preference for dogs indoors or out?
Any awesome training methods?

Don't even get me started. I love my dogs but they try my patience. I'll never make the mistake of getting two eight-week-old puppies at the same time again. Ever.
ReplyDeleteOurs are inside dogs and only partially tamed. I'm glad they're toilet trained now--that was not fun!
I had a friend whose german shepard dog would drink from her travel mug, as he sat in the front seat, when she would hop out of the car into a store for a sec.
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a cutie!
ReplyDeleteI went with cats 'cuz the deal better being indoors and being left alone for much of the day, but I love all the furry beasts.
I actually have two cats at my mom's house but Boyfriend is allergic, so I settled for this little monster instead of a new kitty. I love that little sucker though!
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... Sounds like it's time for a new Boyfriend. I'm sure you have many applicants. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh definitely not!
